Mumbai-based businessman alleges assault by cab drivers in Bengaluru

A Mumbai based businessman has claimed that he was assaulted by a group of cab drivers near Kempegowda International Airport on Tuesday night.

BENGALURU: A Mumbai based businessman has claimed that he was assaulted by a group of cab drivers near Kempegowda International Airport on Tuesday night.

According to sources, Dave Banerjee landed in the city with his friend on Tuesday night and booked a cab. As the driver came, Dev noticed he was not wearing his seatbelt. Dev questioned the driver but when the driver refused to wear the seat belt, Dev got out of the car and looked for another cab. 

When Dev tried to board another cab the driver allegedly assaulted him along with other cab drivers. Dev’s friend intervened and they left the place, sources added.  

Dev took treatment in a private hospital in Indiranagar and informed the police officials about the incident. 

The police sources said that he is yet to register a complaint in the case.
