According to the police, at 6.30 pm on Saturday, Manoj came to his father’s house to discuss about some property matters. It is said that a quarrel ensued between them and Narayanaswamy tried to attack Manoj with a hammer. But Manoj snatched the hammer from his father and hit him repeatedly on the head. He then fled the scene. Later, Narayanaswamy’s wife Jyothi came to the house and found him lying in a pool of blood. But she did not inform the police fearing that her son would be arrested, sources said. The neighbours learnt about the incident and alerted the police on Sunday evening, and the body was sent for autopsy.

“Police have interrogated Jyothi who stated that Manoj was being forced to get married by his father for the last few years. But Manoj was not ready to listen him. This had led Manoj to stay separately from his father. Further investigation is on,” a senior police officer said.
