BENGALURU: Two inter-state thieves who targeted houses where women stayed alone in city have been arrested by Kodigehalli police. Gold worth ` 13.5 lakh has been recovered from them. Those arrested have been identified as Sameer Khan (31) and Fairoz (30), both hailing from Hyderabad in Telangana.
Additional Commissioner of Police (east) Seemanth Kumar Singh said, “The duo would come to city, steal bikes and then scout for houses where women stayed alone. After committing theft, they would abandon the vehicles and go back to Telangana. Recently, they had targeted a house in Kodigehalli which belonged to Lakshmamma.”

They would not leave any evidence behind, and hence it took a long time for cops to nab them. “The prime accused Sameer Khan rarely used mobile phones though he had more than 50 SIM cards. Only on Fridays, Sameer would call Fairoz after prayers and ask him to come to a place located 10km away from Hyderabad for planning the next crime. After that call, neither Sameer nor Fairoz would use his phone until they return to Telangana with the booty,” said police. In Kodigehalli robbery case, police were able to get finger prints of the accused. With the arrest of these two people, police have managed to crack five cases, including one in Telangana.
