Domestic help arrested for theft of jewels from Myntra CEO’s house

Ananth Narayanan had filed a police complaint on September 6 stating that a theft had taken place at his residence.

BENGALURU: The Bengaluru police have arrested a woman in connection with the theft of gold and diamond jewellery worth Rs 1 crore from the house of the CEO of e-commerce portal Myntra.

The jewellery was stolen from the Lavelle Road residence of Ananth Narayanan allegedly by his domestic help, Bhavani Muppudathi. A police official said at least one more suspect is likely to be arrested.

Narayanan had filed a police complaint on September 6 stating that a theft had taken place at his residence. As there was high security at the residence, police worked on the supposition that it was an inside job.

Police said the theft was carried out when the family was out on a vacation. Narayanan said he had last seen the jewels on August 30, and noticed their disappearance on September 6. The cupboard in which the jewellery was stored had not been forced open.
