Overwhelming response for new subway

BENGALURU: Despite lighting facilities in the process of being installed in the newly opened Metro subway leading from the Kempegowda Metro station to the KSR railway station and BMTC bus depot, a small chunk of Metro commuters who knew about it or noticed the opened doors and signboards, began using it. They were clearly overjoyed by the ease in connectivity.

A security guard at Kempegowda Metro Station, Nirmala, had a pleasant surprise when a bunch of women college students distributed sweets to her on Wednesday morning. “They told me the gesture was to thank BMRCL for opening up the subway between the Metro station and BMTC bus depot, which would benefit them every day,” she said.

“I am also thankful to BMRCL for opening up this path.I had to encounter pickpockets and men often misbehaving when walking along the road. I was so happy to use this route today.” Demand for guards along the route was also made by many. A security guard posted here said, “Many people are yet to know that the subway has been opened. We are guiding people as of now.”
