BENGALURU: A 45-year-old man was stabbed to death in full public view by three of his relatives inside a BMTC bus at Konappana Agrahara bus stop in Electronics City police station limits on Monday.

Investigations revealed that his relatives had killed him thinking he was a police informer. The deceased is Seetharam alias Suresh, who hails from Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh.

The incident took place around 9am. According to passengers of the BMTC bus, Suresh got into bus at a stop after which three others also entered. Within a few seconds, they stabbed him with a knife repeatedly and escaped. The passengers, bus driver and conductor managed to rush Suresh to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

“Suresh and the killers were involved in pick-pocket and theft cases. The killers were recently arrested and released. They assumed that Suresh was a police informer and he was the reason behind their arrest. This had led to a fight between them and Suresh had come to the city to escape from them. They tracked him down at Konappana Agrahara bus stop in the morning and killed him,” the police said.
