BENGALURU: L K Atheeq, a 1991 batch IAS officer and a close aide of former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, has finally been given a posting in H D Kumaraswamy's government. Atheeq was appointed as Principal Secretary to the then CM Siddaramaiah in 2016, but had been awaiting posting after B S Yeddyurappa made changes to the post.
Atheeq has now been posted as Principal Secretary to Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department. The IAS officer, sources close to Siddaramaiah said, had a huge role to play in building the former CM's public perception through social media.
In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, Kumaraswamy made changes to key posts in the government on Friday — a day after his maiden budget was passed in both houses of the legislature. Ajay Seth, who was Additional Chief Secretary to the government, Health and Family Welfare Department, has been transferred as MD of Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd in an upgraded post but will retain his current charge. Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd MD Jawaid Akhtar has been posted as Principal Secretary to the government, Health and Family Welfare Department — a post that had been lying vacant. Nagambika Devi, who was Principal Secretary to Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, has been transferred as Principal Secretary, Cooperation Department.
Secretary, Urban Development, Anjum Parvez has been posted as Secretary, DPAR. Naveen Raj Singh, who was Commissioner, Transport and Road Safety, will now be MD, Karnataka State Minerals Corporation Ltd. Subodh Yadav, who was awaiting posting after study leave, has been posted as Secretary, Hyderabad Karnataka Region Development Board apart from holding the concurrent charge as Regional Commissioner, Kalaburagi division.
Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies Department, has been transferred as Commissioner, Health and Family Welfare Department. B R Mamatha — a 2010 batch IAS officer awaiting posting will now be Mission Director, National Rural Livelihood Mission. Nalini Atul, Joint MD, Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation has been transferred as CEO, Raichur ZP.
Shilpa Sharma, M R Ravi Kumar, K M Janaki - all awaiting postings - have been appointed as Assistant Commissioner Raichur sub-division, Commissioner, Mysuru City Corporation and
MD Karnataka State Bio-energy Development Board respectively.
