BENGALURU: A 40-year-old injured man went missing from the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) on Tuesday. Richpal, who went to take a flight to Jaipur, is yet to be traced. His relative Mukesh Kumar Soni has filed a complaint with International Airport police in this regard.

A police source said that Richpal, who hails from Rajasthan, was working in a tiles factory at Chittor in Andhra Pradesh as a labourer. He had sustained fracture in his leg in an accident while working. After getting treatment at a hospital, he had to go home as doctors had advised him bed rest for a few months. As he was not in a condition to travel by train, his relative Soni had booked a flight ticket for him.

“Soni took Richpal to the airport on Tuesday morning and sent him inside the departure terminal. Soni got to know that Richpal had not reached Jaipur, only after the latter’s family members, who were waiting at the Jaipur airport, informed him that Richpal had not reached. Soni went to the Bengaluru airport and checked with the authorities concerned, but did not get any proper information. He later filed a complaint with us. We are analysing CCTV footage inside the terminals and outside the airport to know where Richpal went,” the source added.
