BENGALURU: A woman police constable attached to a traffic police station in the city has filed a complaint accusing a man of allegedly raping her on the pretext of marrying her. The complaint has been filed at Upparpet police station, two years after the incident.

She has accused Amin Saab of raping her while his family members have been accused of abusing and insulting her. According to her complaint, she came in contact with Amin in 2015 when she had gone to Vijayapura to study for competitive exams. The accused was also studying there and they became closer during combined studies.

Eventually, they fell in love and Saab promised to marry her.In 2016, Saab visited her at her sister’s house and forced her into a physical relationship. When she refused, he had allegedly assaulted her.  “Since then, we were not in good terms. After a few months, he came to a lodge in Majestic and asked me to come there. When I went there, he sexually harassed me after promising to marry me. But later, he started claiming that his family members were not happy with the alliance. When I contacted them, they insulted me referring to my caste,” she stated in her complaint. She filed the case last week and Upparpet police are on the lookout for Saab and his family members, who are absconding.
