Bengaluru celebrates International Yoga Day at Kanteerava

The fourth International Yoga Day will be celebrated by the state government at 6.30am on Thursday in Kanteerava Outdoor Stadium starting with Suryanamaskara and Kriyathmaka yoga activities.

BENGALURU: The fourth International Yoga Day will be celebrated by the state government at 6.30am on Thursday in Kanteerava Outdoor Stadium starting with Suryanamaskara and Kriyathmaka yoga activities.

This will be followed by the protocol of the union government which is of 35 minutes duration. Nearly 15,000 yoga enthusiasts are expected to participate. The department of AYUSH in collaboration with associations like Swasha Foundation, Vyasa institution, Art of Living, Sri Pathanjali Yoga Seva Shikshana Samiti, Yoga Gangotri, physical trainers and AYUSH medical students are expected to take part.
Union ministers will be present including Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilisers Ananth Kumar and Union Minister for Statistics and Programme Implementation D V Sadananda Gowda. Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy will inaugurate the event and other state ministers will take part.

Mass yoga demonstrations as per the common yoga protocol according to the Centre guidelines will be exhibited at the gram and taluk panchayats.Yoga experts from NGOs trained members of youth associations, professionals from IT/BT, physical education teachers from educational institutions, members from self-help women associations, lawyers’ associations and members from other yoga institutions. The theme of this year’s International Yoga Day is ‘Yoga yuktha roga muktha’.
