Bengaluru Realtor who killed wife shoots two of his kids, nabbed

BENGALURU:Realtor and resort owner Ganesh H V (49), who shot his wife Sahana Ganesh (42) dead with a licenced pistol at their Jayanagar 4th Block residence on Thursday has been arrested — but not before shooting two of his three children, a son aged 13 and daughter aged 9, and grievously injuring them. Saakshi, the youngest one who was shot in her stomach, is stated to be out of danger while the older one Siddartha, who is critical, was operated upon late on Friday night to remove bullets lodged in his jaw and his back.

Ganesh was intercepted and nabbed by a police team around 6 am on Friday at Anchepalya near Bidadi when he was heading towards Magadi along with his two grievously injured children.He has confessed to killing his wife at their Jayanagar residence before taking his three children to his resort in Kaggalipura and shooting Siddartha and Saakshi, who are now in Astra Superspecialty Hospital in Konanakunte. He admitted to the police that he killed his wife as she firmly opposed his decision to sell his Kaggalipura resort to overcome huge financial losses he had incurred in his business recently. He had reportedly availed loans running into crores of rupees.

High drama unfolded after he shot his wife dead on Thursday morning, almost instanty regretting and deciding to end his life — but not before planning to kill all his three children too, police said. After shooting his wife, he rushed to his children’s school in Jayanagar and picked them up to drive them to the resort.

Sahana’s mother found her dead and the children missing

Ganesh reportedly told the police that he, along with his three children, Samith (15), who is specially abled, Siddarath (13) and Saakshi (9), the adopted daughter, reached his Woods Resort in Nettigere near Kaggalipura around 1.30 pm on Thursday. He told the police that he shot his two children some time between 5 am and 5.30 am on Friday.

Meanwhile, Sahana’s mother, who stays in JP Nagar and often visits their daughter’s family, discovered on Thursday evening that Sahana had been killed and Ganesh and the children were missing. She repeatedly rang the doorbell, but when there was no response, she used a spare key to let herself in and found her daughter lying in a pool of blood on the sofa.She called for an ambulance and rushed Sahana to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Tilak Nagar where she was declared dead.

The hospital authorities immediately alerted Jayanagar police. Soon after the incident came to light, a special police team tracked the movements of the car driven by Ganesh.Kaggalipura police have registered a case of attempt to murder against Ganesh for shooting his two children while Jayanagar police have registered a case of murder against him for killing his wife, based on the statement of the deceased’s father Nagaraj Shankar.Samith is now being looked after by Sahana’s parents.

Boy undergoes long surgery

Doctors at Astra Superspecialty Hospital in Konanakunte who were operating upon 13-year-old Siddharth on Friday night, said the surgery was likely to stretch beyond midnight as he had bullets lodged in his jaw and back. Neurosurgeon Dr Sridhar R Ramakrishna, managing director of the hospital, is the treating doctor for both Siddarth and Saakshi. The girl was successfully operated upon first and had the bullet lodged in her stomach removed. She is out of danger, said the hospital authorities.
