Breakthrough in BMRCL, Union deadlock

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited management has agreed to the following demands made by the Bangalore Metro Rail Employees Union which has repeatedly threatened to go on strike.

BENGALURU:The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited management has agreed to the following demands made by the Bangalore Metro Rail Employees Union which has repeatedly threatened to go on strikes over unfulfilled demands.According to BMRCL Managing Director, Mahendra Jain, these demands have been okayed by the management:

Financial demands:
1.     Night duty allowance
2.     Hard duty allowance (applicable for train operators alone as they need to do tough jobs like focussing on signalling and remain focussed).
3.     Uniform washing allowance
4.     Transport allowance
5. General Holiday allowance
 
Non-financial demands:
1. Subsidised food at BMRCL canteens at depots
2. Recognition of Kannada Sangha of the staff
3. Construction of creche at stations where more than 100 women employees work
4. Earmarking space for the 108 ambulance servcies at Kempe Gowda Metro station
5. Sharing annual appraisal copy with employees
6. Extra uniform to staff
7. Create intermediate posts to effect promotion by amending the rules
