12-year-old boy killed by speeding car in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: Anitha Reddy, the mother of 12-year-old Moun Sai, could not believe that her only son was killed in a gruesome mishap. While he was on the way to a hospital after the bike on which he was riding pillion with his father was hit by a speeding car, Anitha was in his school to get a study certificate.
But as soon as she received the tragic news, she rushed to the hospital and collapsed on seeing the bodies of both her husband and son, her relatives said.

Speaking to TNIE, Suneel Kumar, a family member, said Moun was very passionate about quiz competitions and had participated in state-level fests and won medals. “He wanted to become a sports person, and was keen on taking up training in athletics (running). His father had taken him to their native Kalidevapura in Madugiri near Tumakuru to get his Aadhaar card, as the sports authorities had asked for his documents,” he added. Moun would score the first rank in all subjects and be branded as a brilliant student by his school teachers, his relatives said.  

Accident-prone zone

Bengaluru Traffic Police in a recent study had declared the 7 Km stretch on Old Madras Road in K R Puram, between Benniganahalli and Medahalli Junction as one of Bengaluru’s most dreaded black spots with the highest number of accidents.
