Bengaluru: Labourer dies after mud caves in on him

A 24-year-old labourer died while three others sustained minor injuries when a heap of mud caved in on them at a construction site at Navya Nagar near Jakkur on Wednesday.

BENGALURU: A 24-year-old labourer died while three others sustained minor injuries when a heap of mud caved in on them at a construction site at Navya Nagar near Jakkur on Wednesday. The deceased is identified as Madhusudhan, who hails from Shidlaghatta. 

Police said that the accident happened when the deceased and the others were working on the construction of a house. “On Wednesday around noon, the labourers were standing in a pit that had been dug to install pillars, when a heap of mud fell on them.

Three managed to escape with minor injuries, but Madhusudhan was buried deep under the mud and could not escape,” the Amruthahalli police said. They said the fire and emergency department brought his body out. “A case of negligence has been booked against Chandrashekhar Reddy, the owner of the house,” the police added.
