Unocoin co-founder’s plea dismissed

Harish had set up India’s first ATM kiosk to trade in cryptocurrency in the city.

BENGALURU: The High Court on Thursday dismissed a habeas corpus petition which alleged that Harish B V, the co-founder and Chief Financial & Compliance Officer of Unocoin Technologies, had been kept under illegal detention. Harish had set up India’s first ATM kiosk to trade in cryptocurrency in the city.

A division bench headed by Justices Raghvendra S Chauhan and B M Shyam Prasad dismissed the petition after Additional Advocate General Sandesh J Chouta informed the court that Harish was arrested after a case was registered. He was remanded to police custody till Monday.The petition was filed by Sathvik Vishwanath, another co-founder of Unocoin. Moreover, Chouta also informed the court that the petitioner was also arrested and was in judicial custody.
