BENGALURU:  The council of advertising gencies on Tuesday argued before the Karnataka High Court that the ban of advertisement has killed the industry and around 60,000 workers are on the streets. The counsel also submitted that the ban affected the fundamental rights of the petitioners — advertisement agencies — who have challenged the ban of ads.

The court later quashed the order of the single bench which asked the petitioners to wait till the division bench headed by Chief Justice decided on the PILs against unauthorised flexes in city. Now, the single judge can hear the petitions of Brite Advertisers and others. The BBMP had passed a resolution on August 6, 2018 banning ads for one year in city.
