Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout Phase-II to get alternative sites

NGT stipulates that buffer zones to be maintained for properties from lakes, wetlands  and SWDs need to be calculated from the edge of the drain and not from  the centre.

BENGALURU:  Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout Phase-II allottees, who have been given sites falling under the buffer zone area specified by the National Green Tribunal, will be given alternative sites. A total of 4,970 allottees were given their sites on September 25.

NGT stipulates that buffer zones to be maintained for properties from lakes, wetlands  and SWDs need to be calculated from the edge of the drain and not from  the centre. In case of lakes and  wetlands, 75 metres from the periphery need to be maintained, while in case of primary rajakaluve 50m, secondary rajakaluve 35m and tertiary rajakaluve 25m.

According to an official release, a few site allottees visited the Vijayanagar office of the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) on Saturday and discussed their grievances with the engineers there. “The engineers have decided that sites coming under NGT buffer zone are to be given alternative sites. In this regard, the concerned officers have recommended the issue to the higher officers,” the release said.
