Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper wound up his six-day trip to the country by playing cricket and hockey with students of Bishop Cotton Boys School on Friday.

Harper, along with his wife Laureen, visited the school on Friday morning and were received by the school captains.

After spending some time with principal John K Zacharaiah, the PM headed for the school’s playground. Here, a reluctant PM held a cricket willow for a short game.

The school cricket team skipper and class XII student Ankur Biswas quickly explained the rules of the game, and a smiling Harper, even managed to bat. He was bowled out by class IX student Prithvi.

Harper then moved to the adjacent hockey court, where he was joined by girls’ team captain Nandini S Patil of class ten and the Canadian Sports Minister Baljit Singh Gosal.

The sports minister got an entry to the Cotton Boys Team led by Yash Gopalka, studying in Class 12.

In the 10-minute “Ice Hockey” game, the sports minister’s team won against the Harper’s team 2-0.

The delegation left the school premises, drove straight to the Bangalore International Airport and boarded the Royal Canadian Air Force special aircraft in the afternoon to Manila.
