CHENNAI: A defamation complaint was filed against Tamil bi-weekly Junior Vikatan for publishing an article on CM M Karunanidhi in connection with the Villupuram railway track blast incident. The complaint was filed by the City Public Prosecutor against the writer Era Saravanan, besides editor K Asokan and printer and publisher of the weekly P Srinivasan for the article titled “Udainthathu Thandavaalam, Udaigiradha Vandavaalam” in the weekly’s issue dated 21-07-2010. The complainant submitted that the article contained false and baseless allegations and frivolous statements, which were defamatory. The article has completely damaged and undermined the reputation of the CM in the eye of the party cadre, colleagues and general public.
