Chennai’s glitterati came together for the fourth anniversary of Inbox 1305 on Sunday. Tribal drummers from Puducherry set the mood for the evening and a starkly contrasting black-and-white jungle backdrop had guests fairly impressed even before the show began. Presented by SRM University, the theme of the event was ‘My Planet and I.’

Chief guests for the celebration, Ravi Pachamuthu, chairman, SRM group and actor Amy Jackson released the first copy of Inbox 1305’s first magazine in its fifth year with Jeeva on the cover. The pretty Madrasapattinam actor said, “I think this magazine has something in there for everyone – from your 20’s to 80’s.” She added with a smile, “My favourite part though has got to be the fashion section.”

So when an organic fashion show followed suit with kid models and those aged 60 and above walking the ramp, the concept blended just right with the green theme and Inbox’s target audience. Dressed in Indo-traditional wear made completely from vegetable products and trees, showstoppers K S Ravikumar, Kalki Koechlin and Swarnamalya made quite a fashion statement. Kalki’s attire was even auctioned off for close to `10,000 that will be given to charity. The show was choreographed by Karun Raman.

Certainly one of the highlights of the evening was 3 famed music director Anirudh’s performance. He sang Po Nee Po from the movie.

As part of its green efforts, the magazine awarded Inbox Real Hero Awards to city residents who have been consistently making a change with recycling efforts, kitchen gardens for senior citizens and garbage management. The awardees were Dr Sadhana Rajkumar, S S Radhakrishnan, Abdul Ghani, Naina Shah and Nisha Thota.

Emcee RJ Balaji kept things light with constant comic relief through the show, making for a definitely memorable anniversary celebration. Editor and publisher Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi and co-founder Jyoti Agarwal said their thank yous.

Present at the event was Udhayanidhi Stalin, director Dharani, Durga Stalin, Anusha Dhayanidhi Alagiri, Aishwarya Dhanush and Sangeetha Vijay .
