Religion is a stepping stone

Understanding of god

God is an embodiment of all that is inspirational. God can only be experienced.

Take on religions

They are not indispensable, and at the same time not irrelevant. They have their intrinsic value and, when practised with awareness, can become stepping stones in one’s spiritual quest.

Spiritual practices

Any practice that makes us introspect, increases self-awareness on where we are, where we want to be and, most importantly, about the gap between the two, is a spiritual practice. It can be as simple as diary writing.

Take on meditation

I think it’s a practice worth cultivating. It is a harnessing of the mind’s activities to create a focused, continuous and smooth flow of thought towards the chosen object. Mindboggling discoveries and inventions have come to be through meditation.

Take on miracles

True miracles are those that result in self-transformation.

Pilgrimage spots

They are not necessarily those in the conventional sense of the term. My favourite spots are quiet places that help me go within — the beach, the Ramana Ashram and the Ramakrishna Mutt.
