Rajalakshmi Institutions distributed degree certificates to the graduands of its 2012 batch at two different Graduation Day functions held recently. At Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Dr V Shantha, chairperson of Adyar Cancer Centre, economist and columnist S Gurumurthy and V Chandrasekhar, executive vice-president of L&T Infotech, gave away the certificates and medals to students.
Congratulating the students on the occasion, Shanta stressed the need for interdisciplinary research among various branches of engineering to develop products that can provide quality health care. Gurumurthy, in his graduation day address, exhorted the students to continue learning from the society, the issues that were not covered by the curriculum. He also encouraged the students to start looking at entrepreneurship as an option, as it would create more avenues for wealth creation in the country. Chandrasekar dwelt upon the need to develop perseverance, patience, a systemic approach and a positive attitude for a successful corporate career.
At Rajalakshmi Institute of Technology, A K Pattabiraman, Head Accreditation, South of Tata Consultancy Services, distributed degree certificates to the first batch of engineering graduates from the institute.
