National Science Day held at University of Madras

The National Science Day celebrations were held at the School of Chemical Sciences’ Auditorium, University of Madras, on Saturday.

The National Science Day celebrations were held at the School of Chemical Sciences’ Auditorium, University of Madras, on Saturday. On the occasion, a science field trip was conducted, much to the delight of the participants from various city schools.

Editor (News) of Doordarshan Kendra, M Jayasingh, who was the chief guest, presented prizes to 12 winners of a chemistry quiz. He called upon the students to pursue research in basic science as that could leave an indelible mark, which would be beneficial to future generations. “Many attractive incentives and remunerations are being provided to research scholars to attract the best talent to science research,” he said.

Among those present on the occasion included Kanchanamala, chemistry teacher from Vidyamandir Senior Secondary School.
