Cart your shyness away

Imagine buying a pack of condoms or  kamasutra without sporting any furtive glances at anyone, online, just like how you pick up books or clothes? Try Shycart.com.

Started in November, 2012, by Vivek Raja and Arul Oli, Shycart advertises itself as India’s first ever online discreet personal shopping site.

When you enter the site, you are welcomed with a disclaimer that says, “Please note that the site and products are suitable for users over 18 years of age.”

Yeah that’s right, for Shycart sells sanitary napkins, tampons (the only website in India to do so), she cups (again exclusive sellers in the country), body hair removal creams, under arm sweat pants, vaginal tightening cream, pregnancy and ovulation test kits, condoms, lubes and other sexual health and planning products, body shapers, lingerie, gym supporters, intimate creams and much more.

“People here are still shy about buying these items and that’s when we thought why not make it easy for them,” says Raja on Shycart’s entry into the e-commerce space.

Not just intimate products, Shycart has more. “We run a column where you can ask your most intimate doubts and they are answered by experts who are doctors, counsellors, psychologists and others,” chips in partner Oli.

Shycart offers about 40 personal products and plans to add 450 more to its kitty. “We are also going to introduce discreet HIV testing and screening. Our customers can check for HIV and other venereal diseases and we promise utmost secrecy,” says Raja.

Also watch out for more fun-oriented offerings, albeit of the passionate kind, like sexual books and magazines from this duo.

Products above the value of `300 are delivered for free and delivery is on the same day in Chennai, where they are based.

Alright, you have made the order, but still apprehensive about receiving it in front of anyone? Shycart has an answer for that too. “Neither our packaging, courier or delivery person, will sport any trade mark.

Cash on delivery is also available if you don’t even want a record of such products in your statement,” beams Oli. So get rid of your shyness and head to www.shycart.com.
