Kin's plea for help falls on deaf ears

Even four days after the incident neither the contractor nor the service station officials visited Karthik, who is in a critical condition. When the victim’s family sought help for treatment, the service station officials directed them to another sub-contractor, in which one of the accused is enrolled as a staff.

Family and relatives of Karthik, of Chinna Colony in Ambattur Industrial Estate, are running from pillar to post, between the service station and the other sub-contractor, seeking assistance.

“The administration of the most sought after house-keeping company in Chennai agreed to pay the bill, but didn’t. Now, we are getting phone calls from the hospital to pay the bill for treatment. The service station official also refused to help us.

lt was found that Karthik was not insured by his contractor Murugan, who was running it with six on-site workers “ said Giri, brother-in-law of Karthik.

“I didn’t see my son since Saturday morning when he left for work. Since I am a heart patient, only my wife attends him. I don’t know what made those guys to attack my son. We approached both the service stations and contractor but were kicked to and fro,” said Mohan, victim’s father.
