HC closes habeas corpus plea on abducted girl

The Madras High Court, on Friday, closed a Habeas Corpus petition filed by Hemalatha, the mother of a five-year-old child who was abducted in April 2011, after she submitted that her daughter had been returned to her by the police. 

Hemalatha had filed the petition in April to produce her daughter Chandini, who was in illegal custody of her in-laws in Rajasthan, before the court.

Hemalatha had come to the court along with the child on Friday and agreed to closing of the petition as her child had been handed over to her.
