Man embraces cousin, burns self to death

Allegedly upset over his cousin sister moving out of his house without informing him, a 22-year-old man committed suicide by immolating self while embracing her at Otteri, here on Thursday night.

Police said Kaviyarasan’s (22) cousin was battling for life after he took her into his arms before collapsing. According to police, Kaviyarasan, a mechanic, was upset over the fact that his cousin along with her husband was moving out of the two-storey house they were sharing. On Thursday, after setting himself afire, Kaviyarasan ran into the house. He barged into the room of his cousin, who was packing her belongings, and embraced her. Kaviyarasan died on the spot while his cousin sustained grievous burns and was admitted to Kilpauk Medical College Hospital.
