Around Rs 15 lakh was allegedly stolen by unidentified persons from a van of a cash management firm near Kilpauk on Friday.
Cash Management Services, a private firm, offers cash mobility services to private companies.
On Friday night, the van was at Kelly’s road at Kilpauk when the alleged theft happened, police said.
Two employees had gone into a mobile service provider’s office to collect cash, while driver Saravanan of Nungambakkam and gunman Rumesh, a native of Bihar, were sitting in the vehicle.
When they returned, the back door of the truck was found broken and Rs 15 lakh was missing. Based on a complaint from Nelson, a CMS official, Kilpauk Police registered a case and are investigating.
