Cycle rally to create awareness on cancer

In an attempt to raise awareness on cancer, about 350 school students participated in a cycle rally at the Marina Beach on Thursday.

In an attempt to raise awareness on cancer, about 350 school students participated in a cycle rally at the Marina Beach on Thursday.

The rally, organised by the Madras Medical College and Srimatha Cancer Care Centre, Adyar ahead of World Cancer Day on February 4, began at the Light House and culminated at Labour Statue.

This was followed by an event where Dr V Kanagasabai, dean, MMC, along with the Srimatha Cancer team, released a booklet.   The booklet contains material related to the awareness, prevention and treatment options for cancer for the public.

About 300 people and the heads of the departments of radiation oncology, medical oncology and surgical oncology participated in the event.
