BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is set to address a public meeting in Chennai on February 8, party State president Pon Radhakrishnan said on Tuesday.
Radhakrishnan also expressed hope that the party would be able to finalise its partners for the Lok Sabha elections by then, and showcase its alliance at the public meeting.
“Modiji will address a massive public meeting in a suburb of Chennai on February 8. The place will be announced in a matter of days,” said Radhakrishnan.
He added that his party was holding talks with prospective allies and decisions would be made soon.
“The MDMK and Indiya Jananayaga Katchi have already joined our alliance. We will start formal talks with the MDMK in a couple of days. Preliminary talks are also underway with PMK, DMDK and Kongunadu Munnetra Kazhagam,” said Radhakrishnan.
Efforts are underway to finalise the alliances well before the public meeting to be addressed by Modi, said sources in the party.
The idea is to put the allies together on the stage and start campaigning together.
