Cong remembers TMS

CHENNAI: Late playback singer T M Soundararajan’s first death anniversary was held at Annai Ullam, an old age home, here recently. Mid-day meals were given by T S Balasubramanian Trust to members of the home.

The event was headed by A S Munavar Basha, founder and president of Annai Ullam, and attended by M Yuvaraj, former state president of Tamil Nadu Youth Congress Committee, Rajiv Vardan, Tamil Nadu SC/ST Congress general secretary and J Karkan and South Madras Youth Congress general secretary among others.

Basha said, “Many destitutes come and find shelter in Annai Ullam. We request the general public to come forward and help our old age homes.

T M Soundararajan has sung over 20,000 movie songs in more than 5,000 films, of which over 3,000 were devotional and classical. In a career spanning over six decades, he has recorded in at least 11 languages including Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam.
