CHENNAI: Guru Nanak College (Shift I and Shift II) welcomed freshers with a grand celebration recently. The event ‘Fresher’s Day  Celebrations’ was held separately for both shifts on the same day. At the celebrations for Shift I, Manjit Singh Nayar, general secretary and correspondent of Guru Nanak College presented a memento to the chief guest C  Sylendra Babu IPS, Additional Director General of  Police, Coastal Security, Tamil Nadu.

The chief guest spoke to the students about the importance of  physical exercise, developing good communication skills and planning the day through proper time management. At the programme organised for Shift II, Jayashree Suresh, dean, School of Management, SRM University, presided over as the chief guest. In her keynote address, Jayashree stressed the need for values like honesty and integrity to scale heights.  M Selvaraj, principal, Gunita Arun Chandhok, director, were present at the occasion.
