Actor Karthika Nair and Aadhi Vasudevan inaugurated the new Touch Makeover Studio at Anna Nagar recently. According to owner, this is the only studio to use ammonia-free products in the city.
“They give an elite experience and use the brand Farmavita HD, an Italian company well known for being ammonia-free,” said Karthika, who plans to get membership at Touch.
The space was set up and ready to roll, in just 25 days, according to R Saravanan, who, from a metro constructor, became the managing director of Touch. He added that architect Shahul Nizamuddin had worked day and night and the entire setting was ready, just a few hours prior to the launch!
The interiors, a mix of red, white and green, aim for a calming, yet luxurious ambience. “The most difficult task was setting up white glass with transparent blocks at places. It took us four tries to get them right. The beaded curtains were also a challenging task,” said Shahul.
The salon features a separate cutting station for women, a bridal room, two facial rooms, six manicure/pedicure stations and a waxing room. The stylists, originally from Darjeeling, Manipur and Sri Lanka, were handpicked by Saravanan from the city. They have had an extensive experience with a very good track record. Touch offers services like scrubs, foot spas and head massages.
“There is no one who says ‘I don’t want to look beautiful’ — including men,” said Aadhi. “Gone are the days when they used to mock other men who paid a visit to a beauty parlour. The ambience, location and the trained stylists of this unisex saloon is a perfect combination,” he added.
Saravanan will be launching an international branch of Touch in California, in a month’s time.
