Srikkanth Inaugurates Cricket Academy

CHENNAI: KVS Cricket Academy was recently inaugurated by cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth at the golden jubilee celebration of Kendriya Vidhyalaya Sangathan (KVS).

Srikkanth called on the students, inspiring them to play their natural game and enjoy themselves on the field.

The principal of KV, IIT M Manickasamy delivered the welcome address. He spoke about Srikkanth’s achievements and his role in the World Cup victories. He further said that aspiring cricketers should take advantage of the facilities provided to them. The vote of thanks was proposed by assistant commissioner R V S Subramanian. Deputy commissioner of KVS SM Saleem, KVS Chennai Region, delivered the Keynote address. The golden jubilee was attended by former commissioner of KVS Avinash  Dixit and Dinesh Kumar, additional commissioner, academics. A colourful and scintillating Tamil Nadu folk dance was performed by the students of KV IIT Chennai.

A coaching camp will be organised between July 20 and July30 for 75 students. The Technical expertise will be provided by Srikkanth, and the coach for the students will be S Ashok Anand, level two coach, National Cricket Academy, BCCI.
