The Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited, known as Poompuhar, is organising a jewellery exhibition Mega Jewellery Expo till July 25. The exhibition will include a collection of artistic jewellery from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Kerala and Maharashtra. Accessories like ear tops, bangles, rings, chains, necklace, pendants, brooch, anklets and bracelets, etc., made of precious and semi precious stones, are on display and sale. That apart, silver filigree, gold plated jewellery, costume jewellery, Hyderabad pearls, American diamonds, Rudraksha malas, crystal malas, and other precious stones are also available. The main objective of Poompuhar is to preserve ancient crafts of Tamil Nadu and uplift the standard of living of craftsmen. The 39-year-old organisation has been marketing the products of craftsmen through its network of 14 showrooms located across the country. The exhibition is on at Poompuhar Showroom, 108, Anna Salai, Chennai-2.
