New Chairman for Chennai Aeronautical Society of India

CHENNAI: Anand Jacob Verghese, director and CEO of Hindustan Group of Institutions, has been elected as the chairman of the Chennai branch of The Aeronautical Society of India. Verghese has taken over the post from the outgoing chairman Professor V Kanagarajan. Sai Prasanna Kumar, professor and head, Department of Aeronautical Engineering, G K M College of Engineering and Technology, has been elected as the vice-chairman, while J Ashok Babu, professor, Aviation, Hindustan University as the honorary secretary.

The organisation has been set up with the objective of promoting the advancement and dissemination of knowledge of aeronautical and aerospace sciences / technologies. Over the years, the society has grown into a major professional body in the field of aeronautics, aviation and aerospace. The society has 16 branches at all the important centres of aviation in the country.
