CHENNAI:The second phase of medical counselling to fill the remaining MBBS and BDS seats in both government and self financing colleges began here on Wednesday.
On the first day of the second phase, out of seven MBBS seats available in government medical colleges, four seats were taken. There are three seats remaining - one seat each in Sivagangai, Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi government medical colleges.
Out of 109 MBBS seats in self-financing colleges, 57 were taken and 52 were remaining. Out of 25 BDS seats in Government Dental College, 15 seats were taken and 10 were remaining. In the self-finance dental colleges on the other hand, only 9 of the total 912 BDS seats were taken. The second phase will end on July 25.
