Spurned Lover Sends Pictures of Ex-Girlfriend, Explicit Content to Husband

Central Crime Branch (CCB) police arrested a 27-year-old person on charges of uploading sexually explicit content on a social networking site.

CHENNAI: Central Crime Branch (CCB) police arrested a 27-year-old person on charges of uploading sexually explicit content on a social networking site besides sending photographs he had taken with his former girlfriend to her husband.

According to police, Vimalnath, a native of Perambur and working in Hyderabad, was in love with the girl who walked out of the relationship nine months ago after astrology books did not rule in favour of their marriage. Eventually she married her relative, who is currently working abroad. Spurned, Vimalnath started a Facebook page on the girl’s name and befriended many of her relatives and friends who had accounts on the networking site. In due course, he managed to obtain the mobile number of the girl’s husband and started sending images, where the two were together, through WhatsApp.

Initially, the girl’s husband turned hostile at the sight of the content but understood the issue and chose to ignore the messages. Undeterred, Vimalnath started sending sexually explicit content to him and the pictures to the girl’s relatives including her mother-in-law. “Vimalnath did not stop with that. He began threatening the girl and her husband over phone”, said a police officer.

Unable to bear his actions, the girl preferred a complaint with Police Commissioner S George and it was forwarded to the CCB for further action. After elaborate interrogation, Vimalnath was booked under sections 67(A) of IT Act and 506 (i) of IPC and remanded to judicial custody.
