CHENNAI: School of Special Education and Rehabilitation of Tamil Nadu Open University, Chennai, organised a one-day workshop on ‘Identification and Management of Children with Learning Disabilities’ exclusively for school teachers of all levels, recently.
TNOU Vice-Chancellor Dr Chandrakantha Jeyabalan inaugurated the workshop in which teachers from 50 schools participated. The workshop had three interactive sessions — concept of LD, causes and types of learning disabilities, appropriate strategies to identify the children with learning disabilities in classroom, intervention techniques, and importance of counselling for children with LD, teaching strategies and government policies, which were explained by Dr T Santhanam, a renowned behavioural scientist.
