CHENNAI: City police have arrested two persons in connection with the death of a grocery shop owner who was found dead on Tuesday night.
According to police, Mano alias Manoharan, a resident of MGR Nagar and running a grocery store in Kanthanchavadi, was found dead on Pillaiyar Koil street in Thoraipakkam. Preliminary investigations revealed that he was in a relationship with the wife of one Murali, also from Thoraipakkam. Murali had reportedly warned his wife and Mano to severe their ties. On Tuesday night, Mano was caught visiting Murali’s house around 8 pm. In a fit of rage, Murali and his relative Murugan, who was present in the house, allegedly hacked Mano to death and dumped the body on Pillaiyar Koil street.
Based on a complaint from Mano’s cousin, Thoraipakkam police registered a case and arrested Murali and Murugan. They were later remanded to judicial custody.
