St Mary's Schoolkids Put Up Spectacular Sports Show

CHENNAI: It was a colourful start to the 176th Annual sports meet of the century plus old St Mary’s Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Wednesday.

The warm-up track was filled with students representing Bosco, Rua, Gabriel and Antony houses in a spectacular display of precision marching and colour coordinated red and neon t-shirts for the mass drill with neon streamers that enthralled onlookers.  Over 1,000 students from class VI to XII participated in the event.

Professor Rajesh of the 1988 batch, school principal Rev Fr Francis Sundararaj and correspondent Rev Fr Antony Pappu Raj distributed prizes to the students who won the events held on Friday and Tuesday.

The All Boys School, situated in George Town is one of the first schools founded by Catholic missionaries in the city way back in 1839.
