CHENNAI: In a bid to improve customer satisfaction, The Chennai Silks has offered space for food aggregator and retailer Atchayam’s Food Box to function within the premises of their
T Nagar showroom. Launching the service on Tuesday, The Chennai Silks’ general manager PA Ravindhran said that the group was constantly looking at implementing newer facilities to delight their customers. “When one steps out to shop, it usually takes eight to 10 hours to finish it. In the meantime, we have found that our customers were stepping outside and travelling some distance to eat their lunch or evening snacks. Setting up a food outlet within our premises was the best way to meet their requirement,” he said.
This is The Chennai Silks’ second customer-centric service, after the launch of multi-level car park facility. “After the car park facility was started, our sales margin has increased by 20-25 per cent. So, with Atchayam’s Food Box, we expect to improve on the figures more,” said Ravindhran. For Atchayam’s, this is the third outlet in the city following one in DLF IT Park in Porur and the Chennai Central Railway Station. “This is also a first-of-its-kind tie up with the retail sector,” said Ramesh Narayanan, chief business development officer of Atchayam’s. The Food Box at the showroom provides food from Adyar Ananda Bhavan, Anjappar, Charminar, Moti Mahal and Sudha Udipi restaurants. “The price of the food sold here may be cheaper compared to what is offered at these restaurants. The price range is between `80 and `120,” Ramesh added.
