CHENNAI: The sleuths from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) questioned Don Sridhar Dhanapalan’s wife and their daughter for the third straight day on Friday. The ED has summoned her again on December 8.

Sridhar, who had been dodging the State police, is often referred as a top real estate “don”. His wife Kumari (40) and daughter S Dhanalakshmi landed in Chennai from Dubai on Wednesday.

The ED sleuths had been questioning them for the last three days on property details and the whereabouts of Sridhar. On Friday afternoon, Dhanalakshmi was let off but the inquiry continued with Kumari.
The officials have summoned Kumari to appear again on December 8.

Both their passports have been impounded by the passport authority at the city airport on Wednesday.
This step was taken after Sridhar’s wife claimed while renewing her passport that she had
no criminal cases pending against her.

According to sources, Kumari had come to Chennai to attend a court proceeding.
The Vishnu Kanchi Police Station had filed a case against her under Section 147 (punishment for rioting), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (2) and Section 3 under The Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, 1984.
