The 30th Marghazhi Mahotsav inauguration was presided by Mrs YGP, chairman of Bharat Kalachar, Tamizhisai Soundararajan, state president, BJP, and Alarmel Valli, regional director, ICCR Sri Ayyanar.
Apart from the many awardees, Mrs YGP was the talk of the evening. Dancer Alarmel Valli, who lighted the lamp said, “There was no need to light any lamp because the most luminous lamp present here is mami (Mrs YGP), a person who lit the way for so many artistes. I always begin my Marghazhi season with a performance at Bharat Kalachar. Why? There is so much warmth and intimacy. The energy from mami inspires me. I always feel she is dancing along with me.”

Mrs YGP handed all the Bharat Kalachar awards to the awardees who included Dusyanth Sridhar, Hari Katha Bharathi; Subhasree Thanikachalam, Kala Seva Bharathi; Kanchana, Natya Kaladhar and K Balachander Trophy for artistic Excellence instituted by Kavithalaya Krishnan to Ganesh and Kumaresh.
Speaking at the event, Mrs YGP blessed all the awardees and said she was moved by child prodigy and talents. The event progressed with the Yuva Kala Bahrathi awards.

Nalli Kuppuswami Chetti released the annual souvenir. He shared his experiences with the YGP family and also added that it was the patriarch who suggested the name ‘Nalli Silks’ when it was expanding with many branches. The entire event was dedicated to the memory of Jayalalithaa, Cho Ramaswamy, Vietnamveedu Sundaram, A C Thirulogachander and Seetha Rajachander.
