CHENNAI: Six people had a miraculous escape when the front wheel of a private aircraft was damaged after landing at Chennai airport amid inclement weather on Wednesday night.

The main runway was closed immediately after the incident and other aircrafts were instructed to use the second runway.

The flight owned by top corporate house, L&T, had four passengers and two crew members on board when it landed here from Bengaluru around 8 pm. As it was taxiing after landing, the wheel broke, as a result of which the nose of the aircraft hit the ground.

The crew and passengers were taken to safety immediately.
