Inviting Entries for Theatre Festival

CHENNAI: Prakriti Foundation along with The Blu Lotus Foundation in collaboration with the Alliance Francaise, Chennai, presents the fifth edition of the  Short+Sweet Theatre festival in Chennai.

The 10-minute theatre fest will run from July 6-31. The festival started in Australia in 2002 and has been held annually in 30 cities across nine countries.

According to a press release, Short+Sweet Theatre aims to provide a platform for actors, writers and directors to create high-quality new work in professional theatre. It also aims for a collaborative environment where established practitioners work with and pass on knowledge to emerging talent in theatre. The fest aims to present high-quality theatre in the form of short pieces at affordable prices and develop new audiences for Indian theatre.

 Scripts in English and all South Indian regional languages are invited and registrations can be made on http://www.shortandsweet.org/festivals/short-sweet-south-india-2016. The last date to register as a director/ Independent Theatre Companies is May 22 and the last day to register as an actor is June 1.
