CHENNAI: The Madras High Court passed an order allowing the Mahalakshmi Cultural Association in North Boag Road in T Nagar to carry on with its activities subject to a set of 10 conditions including not to indulge in any illegal activity other than playing rummy with stakes.
The High Court barred the police from unduly interfering in the functioning of the association unless there is evidence of gambling or some other illegal activity.
These conditions were stipulated earlier by a single judge while passing orders on a writ petition on March 5, 2012.
