Duo-band aspires to reach next level of indie music scene

CHENNAI: Fuzzculture is a two-piece band comprising of Arsh Sharma and Srijan Mahajan. CE talks to Arsh about his passion, love for Indie music and their upcoming performance in Chennai:

Tell us about your journey so far?

We have been playing for over 4 years and have had an awesome time. We have performed at almost all Indian music festivals and had a few stints abroad too.

What can the Chennai audience expect during your performance?

We will be playing a lot of songs from our recently released album ‘No’ as well as trying out a lot of new yet unreleased material.

Any special number for the audience here?

We have a bunch of songs in mind which might keep the audience’s energy level pretty high.

How special is Indie music to you?

It’s pretty special and personal to me as I’ve always grown up listening to music which other people didn’t necessarily hear. It feels good to progress doing something I love and we are just trying to take Indie music to the next level.

A genre that you would like to experiment with?

We experiment with all genres and only recently I’ve started discovering homegrown Indian folk music.

How do you brainstorm ideas for new numbers?

We don’t really brainstorm that much and we pretty much rely on building on each other’s ideas till we come up with something we like.

How do you tackle differences of opinion?

Haha. That’s something we are still learning to do.

A Chennai-based band you would like to collaborate with?

Skrat and Avial
