Another case against SRM head T R Pachamuthu

CHENNAI: The Chairman of SRM Group of Institutions T R Pachamuthu seems to be in for more trouble as the city police have registered another case against him. This is allegedly for intimidating and abusing a private money lender.

Pachamuthu was recently arrested in the medical seats admission scandal to the tune of `75 crore. He was later released on conditional bail.
In this backdrop, the Vepery police have altered a Community Service Register (CSR) filed against Pachamuthu based on a complaint from a private financier, Mohan Kumar (48) of  Choolai into a First Information Report (FIR).
In his complaint, the financier had alleged that he had lent `70 lakh as loan to Pachamuthu in 2005. When he sought repayment, he alleged that Pachamuthu threatened him with support from goons.
Mohan Kumar initially approached the City Police Commissioner in July. His complaint was forwarded to the Vepery police. A case has been registered under IPC Sec. 294 (b) and 506 (I).
