CHENNAI: A 22-year-old youth from Andhra Pradesh was found dead hanging from the ceiling fan, in a decomposed state, in a private lodge at Ashok Nagar in the city on Wednesday.
The youth was identified as S Shyaam Prasad Gaud and the death came to light when the staff had come to clean the room.
The staff immediately informed the hotel authorities who alerted the police who reached the spot and moved the body to Government Royapettah Hospital for post-mortem.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the youth had checked in on October 25 and was in search of employment. A case has been registered and further investigations are on.
